Albert Pawlusiewicz, DC, FACO

Dr. Albert Pawlusiewicz, voted "Top Chiropractor" by Consumers' Research Council of America, is a licensed, board certified Chiropractic Physician, with specialty Diplomat degree in Clinical Orthopedics. 

Dr. Pawlusiewicz completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago with a degree in psychology, cum laude. After enrolling at the National University of Health Sciences, College of Chiropractic, he earned a degree in human biology, and a doctorate degree in Chiropractic Medicine.

Since 2002, he has completed numerous post-graduate seminars on manual medicine, rehabilitation, nutrition and sports injuries. He specializes in treatment of spinal complains, orthopedic injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and sports and work injuries management. He is certified in Acupuncture, Cox® Flexion-Distraction technique (herniated disk treatment), and Electrodiagnostics. His increasing interest in Occupational Health has led him to further his knowledge as a Functional Capacity Evaluator, and offers Fit-for-Duty and Post-offer Employment evaluations.

Dr. Pawlusiewicz continues to be involved in the academic world through participation in seminars and colloquiums. He is also a lecturer, dedicating some of his time to teaching other physicians about non-invasive approaches to treatment.

Dr. Pawlusiewicz is a current member of the National University Alumni Association, the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists, the Illinois Chiropractic Society, and the Polish-American Medical Society. He is also an avid windsurfer, tennis player and a skier. He is involved in raising his two rascals, Jacob and Maya, as well as in helping his wife Kathy in managing her Dental practice.


Piotr (Peter) Rupniewski, MT, RPT

Peter has been an integral part of Active Care Center since 2004.  He is actively participating in treatment of patients with various musculo-skeletal problems in his capacity as a therapist and a rehabilitation specialist.

Peter has completed his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in Wroclaw, Poland.  He has attained his massage therapy degree in Chicago, and has become a lecturer and an instructor at the Massage Therapy School. 

Peter is working with majority of patients on body mechanics, strengthening, range of motion improvement and functional activity improvement utilizing the newest techniques in manual medicine and physical therapy. 


Jerry Prus, PT

Mr. Prus has been a Physical Therapist since 1994. He has obtained his PT degree at the Krakow Academy of Physical Education, Poland. Throughout his career as a therapist, he has completed numerous courses in manual medicine techniques, geriatric care, sports-injury management and post-stroke management.

Jerry’s involvement with our senior patients is very noteworthy, as he manages all our Medicare patients and works with them on improving their functional abilities enabling them to return to enjoying their golden years. He devises specific therapeutic exercise regimens, oversees patients’ progress, and works together with the patients’ referring doctors to help achieve optimal health results for our patients.


Maggie Laskowski

Front Desk Manager usually is the first person that each of our patients contacts or sees as he or she comes in to our office.  Maggie has worked in this capacity at Active Care Center since 2010.  She is responsible for scheduling patients, maintaining their treatment plans as well as for billing.  She is indispensable in smooth functioning and patient flow at our clinic.  She continues to advance her knowledge in medical laws and regulations in order for the office to be fully compliant with the newest changes in HIPPA, Medicare, ICD-10 and Obamacare law implementation.
